DE BUENA PLANTA

SILVERLAKE, LOS ANGELES

Inspired by the beacheside alfresco bars of Todos Santos and Sayulita, De Buena Planta is a plant-based Mexican restaurant with an expansive 5,000 square-foot garden dotted with soaring palm tress, cacti and tropical plants. A pergola was built to shade the 20 foot-long bar, built from live-edge slabs of Mexican Cyprus and clad with custom terracotta tiles. Concrete breeze blocks were used to create a sense of privacy for a large sunken firepit area for up to 20 guest. Hidden through a doorway in the courtyard is a Mezcal speakeasy, featuring a custom mural by Mexican-born artist Carlos Ramirez, and cocktails inspired by Shamanic rituals.
